Sunday we opted to buy a lift ticket (for us and our bikes) and did a few downhill runs. Take the lift up, ride down, repeat. It was a total blast and the trails we rode were just as cool as the day before. No gap jumps or big drops, but a few little obstacles were thrown in for this cross country boy.

A Wedding, A Bender, and A Few Sweet Rides
Over the weekend we witnessed a couple friend's beautiful wedding and very portionally memorable reception near Winter Park. Devil's Thumb Ranch near Tabernash, specifically. The weather was an absolutely picture perfect late-August Colorado afternoon.
After the wedding ceremony, pictured above, it was time to git down. We promptly did, whilst hanging out with local friends and a few east coast friends, as well. And as the sun went down, so did the hooch. As one person put it, "I don't think we'll make the Christmas card list this year..." which in drunk speech is "Ey dunthink will make thu Chrssmus caard lis this yur..."
Our Saturday ride didn't start until about 2pm.....that should tell you something about the night before......We did some killer rides as well. Among them was the infamous Tipperary Creek ride, from Fraser back over to Winter Park. Almost 25 miles of singletrack, and much of it flat or slightly downhill. Wooooohoooo!!!! I've raced this course soooo many times over the years it was surreal to ride it at a slower pace and enjoy the scenery with only my weeef and good friend. Miles and miles of trails and forest like this:
Near the top of one of the climbs, leading on to WTB trail approaching Winter Park...that's pure Colorado right there.
I fell asleep in a meadow and awoke to two enormous mountain bikers wondering if I'd lost my way.

What a saweeeet weekend. Just finished my last Tuesday night interval session of the racing season. It hurt, as usual. Now I hurry up and recover for the weekend. Out.
