Out With The Old...

Every year about this time I get my race bike ready to put up on the eBay auction block and this year is no different. Know anyone who needs a nearly new 2007 Orbea Oiz? I'll give you the details if you leave me a comment...

Out with the old, and in with the new...And so I pull a backup bike into rotation for the time being...

Life's rough when your backup bike is a four thousand dollar Yeti. But enough tech-talk.

It's been snowing like it should in the mountains so this weekend we're headed up to Steamboat Springs for some completely unrelated-to-cycling activities, if you can believe it. Stay tuned for Ullr's snowy report...

What size is it? I think it's probably too big for me but I'm in need of a new mountain bike. I put all my money into a new road bike and RAAM. I'm still not in a position to buy a new mountain bike but the coating wore off my fork uppers a couple years ago. Now even with new seals, it leaks really bad.

Medium. Built up to about 24lbs. Accelerates like Apollo 13. Just cleaned and rebuilt every part from the frame. New in May, so really, less than 6 months of riding on it. It's a real find, at a great price.

Do "Nearly New" and "Semi-pro racer" go together?

Suuuuure, why not? It just means it was gingerly ridden into the ground. You won't find a better "used" bike guaranteed.
