One Last Curtain Call...

The stunt double called me the other day..........

"Hey dude, it's the Stunt Double....."

"Sup...."

"Nothin, just chillin' at home, wearin' my National Championship jersey around the house again...."

"Nice....."

"You racin' this Saturday?"

".......Whaaaaaat??" I exclaimed, as my beer bottle slipped from my grasp, klaaaaanking to the floor betwixt my very feet.

See, I'd always known about this late-October race which has recently been deemed "The final 2008 mountain bike race in all of Colorado." But somehow I'd buried the prospect far in the back of my sud-soaked, lethargy-of-a-start to the off-season.

But with the call of obligation comes sacrifice. And so I head into this Saturday's Sand Creek Fall Classic completely blind, having never preridden the course; and not having had my heart-rate above "snails pace" in over 6 weeks; I fear I may have lost as much top-end as John McCain has in the last month...

Well, we'll soon find out. And what's more, I bet Pate's gonna show....

Catch ya on the flipside, all you little monkeys....
